Workout Notes 06/06/2022

Initial Notes/Thoughts/Feelings

  • Starting my workouts at 5:30AM again. Quite excited about it.
  • Decided to begin workout with stationary bike.

Morning Workout

  • Deadlift
    • 135/3 – Warm up Set
      • Felt good. I think I’ll do one more.
    • 135/3 – WU 2
      • Feeling really good. Gonna do 155 WU’s too.
    • 155/3 – WU 3
      • Was wanting to jump to 185 but I’m glad I didn’t. Body needed that adjustment.
    • 185/5
      • Whew! Tough, but good. Let’s go for the full five sets.
    • 185/5
      • Tough, but good again. Had to keep my mind on form as the set progressed. Keep your mind steady and focused.
    • 185/5
      • Changed music right before to instrumental type. After first rep, focused energy by focusing through my eyes first. This seemed to really wake up the mind muscle connection. The rest of the set was exceptional.

      • Eyes focus was good. Second major focus was on lat activation. Ring pull ups have definitely increased their strength but I need to USE them – especially an exercise like deadlift. Can’t be lazy.

      • Got it. Feeling fantastic. It was tough, but a major milestone to overcome since the injury.
      • Originally planned to do horse stance after Deadlift but it’s probably overdoing it this morning. Gonna rest legs. Maybe even readjust horse stance to be during squat day p2.

Afternoon Yoga/Balance Training

  • Sun salutations
  • Headstands
    • 20 seconds
    • 20 seconds
    • 20 seconds
      • Found myself able to stay balanced whilst parting my legs. Balance and strength in this position is definitely increasing.
  • Crows
    • 5 seconds
      • Very surprised at the calm I had doing this. Attention and eyes were on the mat and not my hands or feet. Arms and legs were more lined up than normal.
    • 5 seconds
    • 5 seconds
    • 5 seconds
      • Decided to go for 5, similar training mentality to increasing sets.
    • 3 seconds
      • Could not keep going. Arms were cooked after headstands too.

Evening Workout

  • 1/2 mile walk

Final Notes/Thoughts/Feelings

  • Next Deadlift Session, do all 185’s again and same warm up.
  • Interesting yoga session. Decided to veer of course during a class (on phone) and focused my attention instead towards what I felt I needed. Slower and increased activation and time in stretches along with intensive balance training towards headstands and crows. Vast improvement and overall felt amazing. Reminder to listen to your body and do what it needs.
